Our friends over at Santa Monica Distress Monitor have a good post up about high-end townhomes in their slice of the world, and how pricing seems to be holding up in the summer "selling season". Will be interesting to see, particularly if SFR sellers hold their asking prices at the $1mm level, if we see some larger condos and townhomes move in the $700-800k range.

Sharing local info and opinion can be eye opening yet frightening at the same time. Those who usually control RE info now have to compete with local blogs such at this one which
does add something to the discussion even if it's not scintillating all the time.
I'd rather have localized outlets such as this one than the PR regurgitated in the MSM.

I also want to weigh in to support this blog. It's not easy to get a new one going because it takes a long time to get the necessary critical mass of eyeballs.
I've been watching local RE obsessively for 10 years now. West Hollywood is distinctive for its extraordinary level of denial (or ignorance). Prices have taken very noticeable dives in Los Feliz, Silverlake, Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades but in Weho? Barely. I've been saying that people in the Weho market simply don't read. Perhaps that's what makes it difficult for this blog to get its traffic going too.
Thanks for the support ... to think that everyone would be supportive isn't realistic (and I wouldn't think I was doing my "job"!).
That said, yes, more traffic would be nice - less for any ego on my part than just interesting debate/discussion, but that's OK - all good things in time. It's partially been my fault for lack of consistency due to travel - will try to have more frequent posts going forward.
And, of course, welcome any feedback as to types of properties - or other discussions - the readers would like to see.
